Osun 2026: Adeleke’s Accord Beats APC at Omisore’s Unit

Zoyols News

In a major upset in the Osun State governorship election, the Accord Party has secured a significant victory right in the political stronghold of one of the state’s most prominent political figures. Official data uploaded to the electoral umpire’s viewing portal reveals that the Accord Party claimed victory at Polling Unit 003, Ward 1, situated at St. Gabriel Primary School in Ife East Local Government Area. This particular unit serves as the voting base for Senator Iyiola Omisore, the former Deputy Governor of Osun State and erstwhile National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress.

Zoyols News gathered from the official tallies that the Accord Party led the pack at Omisore’s unit with 131 votes. The All Progressives Congress followed in second place with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress managed to secure 10 votes.

The momentum for the Accord Party extended well beyond Ife East, reaching the home turf of its standard-bearer, Governor Ademola Adeleke. At Polling Unit 009 in the Abogunde and Sagba area of Ede North Local Government, Adeleke enjoyed a resounding victory.

According to the official results announced at the scene by the presiding electoral officer, Adebimpe Susan Dunsin, Adeleke dominated the unit with 421 votes. By comparison, his chief rivals trailed significantly, with the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, receiving 29 votes, and Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress receiving just a single vote.

Despite the high stakes of the day, voter turnout at the Governor’s immediate polling unit remained relatively low. Out of the 1,082 registered voters on the register for that specific location, only 457 citizens turned up to exercise their franchise before the voting process officially wrapped up at 4:15 pm.
