The Lagos State Police Command has officially invited Pastor Chris Okafor, the Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, for questioning over serious allegations involving multiple counts of sexual assault and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. The cleric is expected to appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department, popularly known as Panti, on Monday morning, January 5, 2026.
According to a statement shared with Reports by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the invitation follows a series of petitions submitted against the popular minister. The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reportedly taken a personal interest in the case, ordering a “discreet and thorough” investigation to ensure that all parties receive a fair hearing and that no stone is left unturned.
While the details of the petitions remain sensitive, the Command emphasized that the investigation will be handled with the highest level of professionalism and transparency. CP Jimoh made it clear that the law is no respecter of person or social status, assuring the public that the process will be entirely unbiased and free from any external sentiment or influence.
A major focus of the police directive is the protection of those who have come forward. The Command has promised full anonymity and security for all victims and witnesses, encouraging others who may have credible evidence or similar grievances to step out of the shadows. Full protection has been guaranteed for anyone willing to testify, ensuring they can do so without fear of intimidation or harassment.
As the 10:00 am deadline for his appearance approaches, many are watching to see how the prominent clergyman will respond to these grave accusations. The police have urged the public to remain calm and allow the legal process to take its course, reiterating that justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done.
