Former Big Brother Naija housemate Queen Mercy Atang has taken a moment to publicly express her deep appreciation for her colleague, Saga Adeolu, showering him with praise for his genuine friendship.
Sharing a video of the two of them on her Instagram page, Queen emotionally credited the reality show for bringing Saga into her life, emphasizing that he has become more than just a friend—he’s family.
“My genuine friend, who is now like a brother to me. Big Brother Naija really gave you to me @sagadeolu,” she wrote. “I appreciate you, blood, and I love you, bro.”
Queen noted that Saga’s warmth and support are constants, revealing one of his endearing habits: “My brother, every time he sees me, the first thing he shouts is ‘Queen of the Monarchs!’ P.S.: His favourite line to me is, ‘I got you.'” The video was reportedly captured during a movie premiere for Saga.
Navigating Life Beyond the House
Queen’s heartfelt post comes amid a period where the reality star has been highly vocal about navigating the ups and downs of life in the public eye. Just recently, Queen confirmed to the public that her marriage to David Oyekanmi, which took place in March, has unfortunately ended. Responding to a fan’s query, she simply stated that she is now single and unavailable. The wedding introduction, which saw colleagues like Nini Singh in attendance, took place in her hometown in Akwa Ibom.
Before confirming the marriage crash, Queen had spoken out about the negativity that often surrounds public figures. She once pointed out the irony that trolls are free to post insults on someone’s page, yet the target risks being penalized if they respond to the toxicity. She highlighted how quickly people are to judge others, even when their own behaviour is questionable.
In a candid earlier post, Queen recounted how her ex-husband’s direct messages were flooded with women badmouthing her and even offering him marriage when rumours of their break-up began circulating. Sharing a screenshot of a troll’s body-shaming message sent to her husband, she urged her critics to be cautious, even as they dragged her. She had previously praised her then-husband, sharing a screenshot of his respectful response to a lady questioning his marital status, affirming that her prayers and fasting had given her a partner who was truly a husband, not just a man.
Meanwhile, last month, Queen shared an exciting career moment: her first meeting with legendary actress Funke Akindele. She admitted she made the most of the encounter, not letting the box office queen leave until she had successfully pitched her brand. Queen described the meeting as an honour, praising Funke Akindele as a talented, rare gem, and a true legend.
