It is a moment of profound family pride for Nollywood stars Faithia Williams and Saidi Balogun as they celebrate a major milestone for one of Saidi’s sons. The news, confirms that Jamal has officially been inducted into the prestigious Pharmacy School of Medicine at the University of Lagos.
The proud father, Saidi Balogun, could not contain his joy, reflecting on the challenging journey his son undertook. He shared that witnessing Jamal walk this path has been one of his greatest satisfactions. Saidi spoke of the long nights and tough times Jamal navigated, noting how he faced it all with remarkable grace and strength.
Sharing in the celebration, Faithia Williams took to her Instagram page to offer a heartfelt public congratulation. She addressed Jamal with affection, saying, “Congratulations, My Darling @jamalofficiall_ on Your Induction as the latest pharmacist from the college of medicine, University of Lagos.” She continued her message with a prayer for his future: “More success, greater achievements insha Allah @jamalofficiall_ @khalidgram.”
This achievement follows another academic high point for the family earlier this year, when Khalid Balogun, the son Saidi shares directly with Faithia, graduated from the University of Lagos with a First Class degree.
At the time, the proud mother, Faithia Williams, expressed being completely overwhelmed with a mix of joy and gratitude over Khalid’s incredible success. Saidi Balogun echoed her sentiments, questioning what greater joy life could offer, noting how immensely proud his son had made him. Having tragically lost one of his daughters the previous year, Saidi expressed profound gratitude to God for bringing such happiness back into his heart.
Faithia Williams and Saidi Balogun share two children, Khalid and Aliyah. The couple married in 2000 at the Ikorodu registry before their divorce fourteen years later.
Despite the end of their marriage, the former couple has successfully mended their relationship in recent times. Their peaceful co-parenting dynamic was evident last year when, for the first time in years, Saidi publicly sent a sweet birthday message to Faithia, showering her with prayers and love. Faithia returned the favour, sweetly celebrating Saidi Balogun’s birthday in kind.
Faithia even sparked brief reconciliation rumours when she surprised many by referring to herself by her former married name, Faithia Williams Balogun. Furthermore, when Saidi lost his first daughter in October, Faithia showed solidarity by taking a break from social media to mourn. Upon her return, she posted a touching tribute to the deceased and thanked the public for their support. Their mutually supportive relationship was further highlighted when Faithia buried her own father in July; Saidi attended the burial ceremony and was photographed showing his support by raining money on her.
The family’s public celebration of Jamal’s induction is a beautiful demonstration of their commitment to prioritizing the success and well-being of their children, despite their past.
