Sanwo-Olu Set to Speak at Arewa Think Tank in Kaduna Tuesday

Lagos State Governor and South-West Governors Forum Chairman, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will address a public lecture in Kaduna on Tuesday, marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. His lecture, titled “65 Years of Nigeria’s Independence: A Journey So Far with the Renewed Hope Agenda in View,” is organized by the Arewa Think Tank, a policy and socio-political forum composed of professionals from 19 northern states.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as Special Guest of Honour at the event, which will be chaired by former Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim Pius, alongside co-chair Madakin Zazzau, Mallam Mohammed Munir Ja’afaru. Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State will host the event, with the Emir of Birnin Gwari, His Royal Highness Malam Zubair Jibril Maigwari II, serving as the Royal Father of the Day.

Several distinguished leaders are expected to attend, including former Governor of Osun State and APC pioneer Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, as well as ex-Governors Olusegun Osoba of Ogun State and Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna. Military leadership will also be represented by former Chief of Army Staff and Defence Staff, General Martin Luther Agwai.

Members of the Federal Executive Council are confirmed participants, including Ministers Mohammed Badaru (Defence), Dr. Dele Alake (Solid Minerals), Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (Interior), Mohammed Idris (Information and National Orientation), and Senator Abubakar Kyari (Agriculture and Food Security). Other notable figures expected include current and former public officials, Northern leaders, and prominent business figures, all gathering to celebrate the nation’s journey and engage with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The lecture is set to highlight Nigeria’s progress over six and a half decades while exploring strategies for sustainable development, unity, and socio-economic advancement across the country.
