Nigerian musicians Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, have officially reconciled after a feud that began during the 2023 general elections.
The disagreement originated over differing views on Peter Obi’s presidential bid, with Kuti calling Obi an “opportunist,” a remark that sparked a sharp response from Okoye. The exchange escalated into a heated debate on social media, with both artistes trading pointed comments about each other’s careers and relevance.
The reconciliation became public recently when the two were spotted sharing a warm greeting at a Lagos nightclub. A video capturing the moment went viral, showing them hugging and shaking hands. In the clip, Kuti was heard saying, “We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians,” a sentiment that Okoye agreed with as the two made peace.
The encounter signals a new chapter in their relationship, emphasizing unity among artists and the importance of moving past political disagreements.
