Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, has lauded Nigerian Breweries Plc, brewers of Life Continental Lager Beer, for their continued support in preserving and promoting Igbo culture through sponsorship of traditional festivals.

Life Continental Lager Beer stood out as the exclusive sponsor of the 2025 Afiaolu Nnewi Festival, a celebration that honors yam as the king of crops. The colorful event took place in Nnewi over the weekend and drew a large crowd of indigenes, dignitaries, and cultural enthusiasts.

Governor Soludo, represented at the occasion by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Don Onyenji, expressed delight at the grandeur of the celebration. He commended Life Beer for its remarkable involvement, noting that the brand’s sponsorship has elevated Afiaolu into a cultural showcase with strong tourist appeal.

Speaking at the festival, the Marketing Director of Nigerian Breweries, Sarah Agha, described the company’s partnership with Ndi Igbo as a reflection of its commitment to culture, resilience, and community pride. She emphasized that Life Continental Lager Beer will continue to stand with the people of Nnewi and Igbo land as a whole.

Agha extended appreciation to all who attended, especially the traditional ruler, HRH Igwe KON Orizu, for granting the company the opportunity to participate in the festival. She expressed optimism that the relationship between Life Continental Lager and the Nnewi community would grow even stronger in the years ahead.

The 2025 Afiaolu Festival, held at Nkwo Nnewi Triangle, featured several exciting activities, including traditional wrestling matches and cooking competitions. These were further supported by notable figures from the community, among them Chief Cletus Ibeto, Chairman of the Ibeto Group.

The festival, rich in tradition and festivity, once again affirmed its place as one of the most celebrated cultural events in Anambra State.
