Zoyols Blog
The Otabor family is mourning the loss of Ruth Otabor, sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna. According to a statement issued by Eko Solicitors & Advocates, Ruth succumbed to injuries sustained in a tragic accident involving a Dangote Cement truck on August 13 near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State.
Ruth, who had graduated from the institution just six days prior, suffered severe injuries in the accident and had both legs amputated. The incident sparked widespread outrage after Phyna accused Dangote Cement of reneging on a promise to sponsor her sister’s treatment abroad.
The family’s statement confirmed that Ruth passed away at 6:30 am on Sunday, August 31. The news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and beyond, with many paying tribute to the late Ruth. The Otabor family had been holding onto hope for Ruth’s recovery, but tragically, their prayers were not answered.
The circumstances surrounding the accident and the subsequent treatment of Ruth have raised questions about corporate responsibility and the welfare of accident victims. As the family mourns their loss, many are left wondering what could have been done differently to prevent this tragic outcome.
