Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has praised President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying they are laying a solid foundation for a “new Nigeria.” He made the remarks after reading the ninth lesson at the 2025 Christmas carol organized by the state government in Abeokuta on Monday.
The governor highlighted how the president’s initiatives have contributed to economic stability and inclusive prosperity nationwide. He noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda has positively impacted the nation’s economy, creating opportunities for growth and development across sectors.
Abiodun encouraged continued support for the president, emphasizing unity, compassion, and shared progress as key ingredients for building a brighter future for Ogun and the country.
Reflecting on the festive season, he said Christmas brings good tidings and joy, even amid global and national challenges. “This season is more than a date on the calendar; it reminds us of God’s unfailing love and calls on us to care for the needy and comfort the lonely,” he said. He urged worshippers to extend Christ-like love through acts of kindness, particularly towards the less privileged.
The governor also commended Ogun State’s longstanding reputation for religious tolerance and social harmony. He advised residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to ensure a safe and joyful festive season.
Earlier, Pastor Tunde Bakare of Citadel Global Community Church delivered a sermon titled “The Best Gift Ever.” He reminded worshippers that Jesus brought good news to humanity and said the true spirit of Christmas lies in carrying Christ’s teachings into schools, communities, and daily life.
The event drew several dignitaries, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Governor Olusegun Osoba, Senator Solomon Adeola, and traditional rulers, underscoring the festive celebration’s significance.
