Adunni Ade Triumphs in Defamation Case, Celebrates 20 Million Win

ZoyolsBlog

Nollywood star Adunni Ade is celebrating a major legal triumph after winning her defamation lawsuit against a blogger who published a false story linking her romantically to Senator Dino Melaye.

The actress had taken the matter to court, describing the publication as misleading and damaging to her reputation. In her suit, she argued that the report violated her constitutional right to privacy as guaranteed under Section 37 of the Nigerian Constitution and the Nigeria Delta Protection Act of 2023.

After months of legal proceedings, the court ruled in her favor, awarding her N20 million in damages. Elated by the verdict, Adunni took to Instagram to express her gratitude and reflect on her victory. She described the judgment as a powerful reminder that privacy and integrity still hold value in a world where misinformation spreads fast.

Sharing the news with her fans, she wrote that “justice delayed isn’t justice denied” and thanked her legal team for their dedication. She proudly revealed that this marks her second court victory, with more cases still in progress. In a sharp message to those avoiding legal summons, she urged them to face the law rather than hide from it.

Her post read in part: “A false story was published about me, but truth stood tall. This judgment reaffirms that privacy matters — and so does integrity. Justice delayed isn’t justice denied. Many thanks to my lawyer, Olumide Babalola LP. Two cases won, a few more to go. To those running from court papers, stand still so you can be served.”

She also issued a pointed message to a fellow actress whom she accused of spreading the defamatory story, calling her out for envy and deceit.

Earlier in the year, Zoyols Blog reported that Adunni had filed a lawsuit to address the growing trend of people using her name and image for social media clout. She stated that she had endured false narratives for too long and decided to take a stand to protect her brand and integrity.

The actress has never shied away from speaking her mind. In 2024, she made headlines after calling out an InDrive rider who absconded with her order, vowing to take drastic action if her delivery wasn’t made.

With this new legal victory, Adunni Ade has once again proven that truth and persistence will always outshine falsehood.
