Relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has spoken for the first time about the death of her second son, Bryan, while also addressing a fundraising appeal made publicly on her behalf.
The development came about a month after Blessing was remanded in Kirikiri Prison.
The news of her son’s death was earlier made public by Amira Agiye, CEO of Isaamira Love Foundation, who appealed to Nigerians to support Blessing financially while she remains in custody.
According to Amira, Blessing needed N20 million to meet her bail requirements, while another N36 million was reportedly required to settle debts owed to individuals connected to the case.
She also appealed to members of the public to show compassion towards Blessing, saying the circumstances surrounding her case should not prevent people from offering support during what she described as a difficult period.
To support her claim that the appeal was genuine, Amira played a recorded voice conversation in which Blessing reportedly confirmed the death of her son.
In the recording, Blessing revealed that Bryan had been full of life before his death and said she was devastated by the loss while in custody.
“My second son, Bryan, was full of life. While in custody, I lost Bryan. I pray this turns out positive so I can leave this place, pick up the pieces of my life and pay my respects to him,” she said.
The development has since drawn attention to Blessing’s situation, particularly her continued detention and the circumstances surrounding the fundraising appeal made in her name.
