Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has named Hon. Austin Iluore a member of the Finance Committee and Co-Director of Youth Mobilisation on the Edo State All Progressives Congress Campaign Council.
The two roles put him at the centre of how the council handles money and how it draws young people into the campaign, as the party keeps building its structure and its work across the state. On the Finance Committee, he is expected to sit with other members on planning, coordination and the day-to-day running of campaign spending. As Co-Director of Youth Mobilisation, his brief is to talk to young people, organise youth groups and help raise their involvement in politics.
Iluore has long been active in party and organisational work in Edo, with a clear interest in youth and grassroots organising. In May he asked eligible residents, especially young people, to join the Continuous Voter Registration exercise and collect their Permanent Voter Cards, stressing that people should take part in the electoral process rather than sit it out.
The new assignments are likely to widen his reach inside the campaign as the council tries to go deeper into communities and tighten mobilisation statewide. They also show that the council is paying attention both to how the organisation is run and to keeping young voters in the conversation.
