Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been named among the three finalists for the 2025 CAF Player of the Year award. The announcement was made by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Sunday evening.
Osimhen, currently with Galatasaray and the winner of the 2023 edition, will go head-to-head with Mohamed Salah of Egypt/Liverpool and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain for Africa’s top individual football honour.
Nigeria’s representation doesn’t end there. In the women’s category, Rasheedat Ajibade made the final shortlist, competing with Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy for the continent’s top female player award.
The 2025 CAF Awards ceremony is scheduled to hold in Rabat, Morocco, on November 19 at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT).
