Farm Horror: Body of Herder Discovered in FCT

Zoyols Blog

A farmer returning home from his fields in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) made a grim discovery on Monday evening. He found the body of a herder in a lowland farm known as a “fadama” near the Fobgbe community in Riwaza. The herder, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, had been missing since Sunday after he left his settlement to graze his cattle and never returned.

According to a local source, the community was in the dark about his whereabouts until the “Ardo Fulani” (the Fulani community leader) in Fobge raised the alarm. It wasn’t long after that the farmer stumbled upon the deceased’s body, bringing the search to a tragic end.

Shehu Usman, the local Ardo Fulani, confirmed the discovery and stated that the herder had gone out with his cows on Sunday. He added that the community did not report the missing person to security operatives immediately due to the long distance and the poor condition of the road between the village and Kwali.

The discovery highlights the ongoing security challenges facing rural communities in the FCT. While the investigation into the herder’s death is still ongoing, the incident has left villagers shaken and concerned for their safety.
