Nigerian content creator Jubril Oladapo, widely known as Officer Woos, has dismissed viral claims suggesting that he announced the death of fellow skit maker Broda Shaggi. He described the report as false, damaging, and aimed at misleading the public.
The false claim began circulating on X after a user alleged that Officer Woos had taken to Instagram to announce Broda Shaggi’s death, even adding a message mourning him. The post quickly gained attention and sparked confusion across social media platforms.
Reacting swiftly, Officer Woos shared a screenshot of the claim on his Instagram Story and simply labeled it as false, making it clear that he never made such an announcement at any time.
His legal representatives, Versed Attorneys, later issued a formal statement addressing the situation. They explained that the attention of their client had been drawn to false reports published by unverified and anonymous social media accounts, insisting that the claims were entirely fabricated.
According to the lawyers, Officer Woos has never announced the death of any colleague, friend, or associate on any of his platforms. They stressed that the story being spread was created to mislead the public and damage his reputation.
The legal team also reacted to a separate allegation circulating online that he had been arrested for drug related offences. They firmly denied the claim, stating that he has never been arrested, investigated, or charged in connection with any drug related case at any point in 2025 or earlier.
They further referenced relevant laws on defamation and cybercrime, demanding an immediate removal of all false publications and a public apology from those responsible within forty eight hours.
The statement warned that failure to comply could lead to legal consequences, as Officer Woos is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect his name and reputation.
The recent rumour comes months after Broda Shaggi was also the subject of a false report claiming he had been shot while filming at Sango Ota Bridge in Ogun State, a story that was later debunked. Since then, the skit maker has remained silent on similar online speculations.
