Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has made it clear that the state is fully prepared to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign come 2027. Speaking on Sunday during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting, the Governor tied this commitment to the tangible progress and federal projects that have flowed into the state since the President took office.
During the session, which focused on the All Progressives Congress (APC) nationwide electronic membership registration, Sani revealed that Kaduna is setting its sights high, with a target to register 2.5 million members. The Governor believes the party has solidified its position as the dominant political force in the region due to an inclusive development model that ensures no part of the state is left behind.
A major highlight of the Governor’s address was the mention of significant federal backing for local infrastructure. Sani pointed out that President Tinubu recently approved N1 billion for the Kaduna State Light Rail Project, a move he described as a game-changer for Northern Nigeria. He noted that, outside of Lagos, no other state has received this specific level of federal support for a rail project, marking a historic milestone for the people of Kaduna.
The Governor emphasized that these interventions are the primary reason the state’s leadership and citizens are aligning behind the President’s vision for a second term. By spreading projects across various zones and attracting federal interest, the administration hopes to demonstrate that the APC remains the most viable platform for growth.
As the electronic registration continues, the party leadership in the state is working to ensure that its grassroots base is well-documented and ready for the political cycles ahead. Sani expressed confidence that the combination of state-led development and federal partnership would make the 2027 bid a seamless one for the ruling party.
