Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has once again made history, adding another Guinness World Record to her growing list of achievements. She received her second official plaque for cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice, an extraordinary culinary feat verified by Guinness World Records. The record-breaking dish, weighing an astonishing 8,780 kilograms, was prepared during a special cookout held in Lagos in September.
This new recognition comes just over a year after Hilda secured her first Guinness title in May 2023 for her 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, which captured global attention and inspired millions.
With two records to her name, Hilda Baci now stands as Nigeria’s first and most celebrated chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records, further cementing her influence on the global culinary scene.
In a heartfelt message shared on her page, she wrote, “Your plaques are finally here! Two records, two plaques, one story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria. Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves a story that reached over 5 billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder someone pinch me.”
She also reflected on her journey with gratitude, quoting a Bible verse that has guided her through: “A two-time Guinness World Record holder! Instead of your shame, you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace, you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.”
Hilda’s story continues to inspire a generation, proving that with faith, perseverance, and purpose, dreams can truly transcend boundaries.
