Nigerian gospel singer Sister Ifeoma Onuh has officially resumed active music ministry after stepping away from the spotlight for more than a decade to focus on her family and motherhood.
The Enugu born artiste first made her mark in the gospel music scene in 2004 with the release of her debut album, Drybone Shall Rise Again. The project introduced her unique style of worship and helped establish her presence within the industry.
As her career progressed, she expanded her catalogue with several other musical projects. These included a collaborative album with The Precious Kids, a feature involving Chioma Onuh, as well as the release of the EP titled Everlasting Praise.
However, following her marriage to Donatus Onuh from Oduma in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, Sister Ifeoma gradually reduced her public appearances and musical engagements. Her attention shifted toward building her home and raising her four children, a responsibility she embraced wholeheartedly.
After years away from active ministry through music, she made a comeback in 2020 with the release of Scandal Mongers. The song was inspired by personal experiences and the realities of societal pressures, marking a new chapter in her musical journey.
Her return was followed by the release of several songs that further reflected her message of faith and encouragement. Among them are The Mighty Man, Obi Mgbawa, Sunana and Oke Nduru. She also went on to release Chukwu Azawom, I Jump and Pass, Ide Ji Uno and I Will Testify in subsequent years.
Continuing her renewed commitment to gospel music, the singer added two more songs to her growing body of work in 2026. The tracks, Sweet Mother and Blessings Ngozi, further strengthened her presence in the gospel music landscape.
Speaking about her decision to return, Sister Ifeoma explained that her passion for using music as a tool for worship and inspiration has remained unwavering despite the years spent away from the public stage. She noted that her desire is to continue sharing messages of hope, faith and encouragement through her songs.
Her journey reflects a balance between family life and ministry, demonstrating that seasons of responsibility do not necessarily signal the end of purpose. Having devoted years to nurturing her family, she has now embraced a fresh phase of her calling with renewed dedication.
Today, Sister Ifeoma Onuh continues to record and release gospel songs while fulfilling her responsibilities as a wife and mother, remaining committed to impacting lives through music rooted in worship and spiritual upliftment.
