Interswitch Rewind: A Night of Music and Memories in Lagos

Zoyols Blog

Lagos wrapped up 2025 with its typical festive flair, but the standout highlight of the season was undoubtedly the Interswitch Rewind Concert. Held on December 30 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, the event managed to do something rare: it perfectly blended the magic of musical nostalgia with a modern brand experience, creating a night that felt more like a cultural milestone than a standard corporate sponsorship.

For the second year running, Interswitch Group took the lead as the headline sponsor. The strategy here was clear moving beyond mere logo visibility to connect with people through their emotions and memories. The concert proved that nostalgia is still one of the most powerful ways to bring people together, especially when it celebrates the sounds that defined a generation.

The legendary DJ Jimmy Jatt served as both host and curator, masterfully guiding the audience through a sonic journey of Afrobeat, hip-hop, reggae, and R&B. The atmosphere reached a fever pitch as icons like D’banj, Sir Shina Peters, 9ice, and Dr Sid took the stage. Watching performers like Bigiano and Cynthia Morgan command the crowd turned the venue into a massive, unified sing-along, bridging the gap between the music of the past and the energy of the present.

What made the night truly different was how Interswitch, along with Quickteller and Verve, integrated into the event. Rather than being passive observers, the brands set up interactive booths that encouraged real conversation and connection. For a company like Interswitch, which has grown alongside Nigeria’s digital landscape, the partnership felt natural. The event’s focus on legacy and shared history mirrored the brand’s own role as a constant companion in the daily lives of Nigerians.

The crowd was a diverse mix of professionals, creatives, and media personalities, all looking for an authentic experience rather than just a flashy show. This shift toward meaningful engagement is a lesson for many modern brands. The packed hall and the organic way people interacted with the sponsors showed that when a brand genuinely supports culture, the impact lasts much longer than a traditional advertisement.

As the music eventually faded and the year drew to a close, the Rewind Concert left a lasting impression. It served as a reminder that culture isn’t just a background for marketing; it is the very platform where true connections are made. For Interswitch, the night was a success because they weren’t just sponsoring a show they were part of a memory that Lagosians will carry into the new year.
