Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has voiced his confidence in Nigeria’s ability to navigate the first stage of the 2026 World Cup qualification playoffs in Morocco.
The mini-tournament, scheduled from November 13 to 16, will feature Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Ndidi emphasized that the team’s depth, pace, and tactical flexibility make them a formidable force.
“The strength of the team lies in our speed in transition, creativity on the wings, and a solid spine. We also have players who can come in and change the game. When we’re connected and intense, we’re very dangerous,” Ndidi explained.
He highlighted unity and discipline as essential to success, stressing that no opponent will be underestimated. “We respect every team. Playoffs are decided by small margins, not reputation. Our focus is on sharp training, proper recovery, and executing the game plan. If we do that, our quality will shine.”
Ndidi added, “As a team, we aim to qualify while staying grounded. We’ll prepare well, give everything on the pitch, and maintain our humility.”
The Super Eagles officially opened camp in Rabat with seven players and backroom staff, including Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Kunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, and Moses Simon, ready to kick off their World Cup journey.
