Ododo’s Focus on Rule of Law Earns NBA’s Strong Approval

Zoyols News

The legal community in Kogi State has thrown its weight behind the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, citing his adherence to the rule of law as a cornerstone of his governance style. During a high-profile visit to the Government House in Lokoja on Wednesday, the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lokoja Branch, took the opportunity to review the state’s current trajectory and offer their professional assessment of the administration’s performance.

Leading the delegation, the Branch Chairman, Barrister Sumaila Abbas, pointed out that the Governor’s approach to leadership has been defined by a visible respect for legal frameworks and institutional integrity. According to Abbas, these efforts have not only strengthened democratic institutions within the state but have also played a significant role in restoring the public’s trust in how government business is conducted. He described the achievements recorded across various sectors of the economy as verifiable evidence of a government focused on tangible results.

Zoyols News reports that the legal practitioners expressed a clear willingness to collaborate with the state government on initiatives that foster justice and equity. However, Barrister Abbas was also careful to maintain the professional independence of the bar. He noted that while the association remains a partner in the state’s progress, it will continue to serve as a societal watchdog, providing constructive feedback and necessary critiques through the right channels to ensure the government stays on track.

In his response, Governor Ododo thanked the NBA for their visit and their recognition of his team’s hard work. He emphasized that for any society to thrive, the law must remain supreme. The Governor reiterated his promise to keep transparency and accountability at the forefront of his agenda, ensuring that development remains inclusive for every citizen of the state. It was a moment that highlighted a mutual respect between the executive arm of government and the legal profession, signaling a stable environment for future growth.
