Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to accelerate the state’s development, particularly in the area of infrastructure.
Speaking with journalists in Benin City, the governor shared updates on several ongoing projects across the state, revealing that most of them have reached about 80 percent completion. He assured residents that many of these projects would be delivered within a short time, transforming key sectors including roads, schools, and healthcare facilities.
Governor Okpebholo emphasized that his administration is fully focused on providing tangible results for the people of Edo State. “We are here to serve the people, and our goal is to deliver the true dividends of democracy to every community,” he said.
However, the governor expressed concern over reports that parts of the land originally allocated for the Edo Specialist Hospital have allegedly been taken over by the owner of the Museum of West African Arts, leaving the government with only about 20 percent of the space.
Okpebholo restated his administration’s resolve to address such issues promptly and ensure that all projects meant to serve the public are protected and completed for the benefit of Edo people.
