The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has called on Nigerians to prioritize unity, peace, tolerance, and mutual love. He made the appeal on Sunday night before entering a seven-day seclusion as part of the traditional rites leading up to the annual Olojo Festival in Ile Ife.
As the permanent co-chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) and chairman of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC), Oba Ogunwusi stressed that the absence of these values continues to fuel division and hinder national development.
Praying for divine blessings, healing, and a renewed spirit of national recovery, the monarch urged Nigerians to rise above ethnic and religious differences, emphasizing that the country’s strength lies in its diversity.
“I am praying for Nigeria and for Nigerians. I seek God’s mercy upon this land. May we all experience peace, unity, progress, and the blessings of the Almighty,” he said.
Addressing the sons and daughters of Oduduwa across the globe, the Ooni added, “Be peaceful, be united, and work together for progress.”
