Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has credited his administration’s focus on economic revival for recent gains, particularly the full reclamation of the Tinapa Business and Leisure Resort and a major new deal to build the Bakassi Deep Seaport.
During an award ceremony in Abuja, Otu, represented by his media aide, said reclaiming Tinapa from the Asset Management Corporation was a hard-fought victory that would now position the resort as a free zone for trade, tourism, and creative businesses under fresh management.
He also highlighted fresh agricultural initiatives, including a partnership with JR Farms to plant 30 million coffee seedlings across the state and a six-year, ₦30 billion credit scheme to support smallholder farmers.
On infrastructure, the governor noted that the Obudu cargo airport is nearly complete, while the state’s airline, Cally Air, has expanded its fleet with two new aircraft. He further revealed that the proposed Bakassi Seaport has been listed among nine priority seaports under the federal government’s marine economy policy.
