Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State cast his vote amidst a tense atmosphere at Ofiyi Square, polling unit 002, located in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area. Despite being expected early in the morning, around 8 a.m., he arrived significantly later, at 1:15 p.m., to the anticipation of journalists, local and international observers, as well as supporters from his community.
Upon his arrival, he was met by a large crowd of voters still waiting to be accredited before casting their ballots. This particular polling unit is notable for having the highest number of registered voters in the local government area, with a total of 933 voters assigned to it.
Earlier in the day, at about 1 p.m., approximately 400 voters remained in line, demonstrating remarkable patience despite slow progress. The delay was largely attributed to a shortage of functioning equipment; only one BVAS (Biometric Voter Accreditation System) device had been made available to the entire unit, causing the accreditation process to drag on.
