Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has shared documents claiming that Senator Prince Ned Nwoko married actress Regina Daniels when she was underage.
Taking to his Facebook page, Sowore presented evidence suggesting that the marriage took place in May 2019, when Daniels was reportedly 17 years old. He further alleged that Nwoko traveled internationally with her at a time she was still a minor.
According to Sowore, records from Daniels’ international passport indicate she was born in October 2001. He accused the senator of falsifying official documents, claiming that Nwoko obtained a fake Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter card to conceal her true age.
Sowore wrote: “We have obtained a copy of Regina Daniels’s international passport, issued based on her birth certificate. She was underage at the time of her marriage to Chinedu @Senator Prince Ned Nwoko. It’s crucial to question INEC Nigeria about this discrepancy, as he is currently using an @INECNigeria voter’s card to assert her age. The process for obtaining a voter card may not involve the rigorous verification required for an international passport, which is based on a birth certificate and other legitimate IDs.”
He added that Nwoko deliberately avoided taking Daniels to countries like the US or Europe, citing the legal implications of her age, though he allegedly traveled with her to Jordan, UAE, and Egypt. Sowore also claimed that Nwoko changed her name from Regina Nneamaka Favour Ojeogwu to Regina Daniels and accused him of introducing her to drugs to control her.
“This latest revelation raises serious legal and ethical questions that cannot be ignored,” Sowore said. “No amount of influence or political power should shield anyone from accountability when such grave issues are involved. Crooked All Progressives Congress Senator Prince Ned Nwoko is fully exposed now.”
