President Bola Tinubu has issued a direct and firm charge to Nigeria’s top security and intelligence officials, demanding significantly greater efficiency in strategy and delivery as the nation continues to grapple with persistent threats of insecurity.
The directive was given by the President on Tuesday during a crucial, behind-closed-doors meeting with the Service Chiefs and heads of intelligence agencies at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The session, which lasted for over an hour, centered on a comprehensive review of ongoing security operations and the critical need to strengthen coordination among the various agencies.
Speaking to the press after the engagement, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, characterized the interaction with the President as “robust.” He confirmed that President Tinubu had issued fresh, result-oriented directives aimed squarely at achieving better outcomes in the fight against all dimensions of insecurity across the country.
General Oluyede provided reassurance to the public, emphasizing that the security agencies are now collaborating more closely and effectively than ever before. He expressed confidence that, with the reinforced strategies now in place, citizens would be able to celebrate the upcoming Yuletide season in peace and security, as noted by report.
