Tonto Dikeh’s Fervent Prayer: A Call to Deepen Faith

Zoyols Blog

Popular Nollywood actress and public figure, Tonto Dikeh, has taken to social media to share a deeply personal side of her spiritual journey, issuing a passionate call to Christians to strengthen their relationship with God through prayer. In a recently shared video, the actress can be seen in a moment of intense, fervent prayer—a scene she admitted was originally intended to remain private between her and her Creator. However, she explained that she felt a strong spiritual prompting to share the footage to inspire others.

Dikeh urged her followers to open their hearts to the possibility of miracles, healing, and restoration. She emphasized that she sees herself merely as a messenger, using her platform to encourage others to find their footing in faith. Her message was clear: the battles she is fighting are not just for herself, but for her destiny, her child, and the generations that will come after her. She noted that she refuses to leave any “doorway” open for the struggles of her past to return, choosing instead to fight those battles on her knees.

This spiritual awakening follows a series of vulnerable revelations about her past. Reports recently highlighted her testimony regarding her victory over long-term struggles with addiction. Dikeh shared that she began smoking at the age of 13, a habit that lasted for nearly 27 years before she found the strength to break free. She also opened up about her past battles with alcoholism and other personal struggles, describing her current state of freedom as her “bravest and proudest moment.”

The actress reflected on how invisible chains of shame and doubt once held her back from fully expressing her faith. She confessed that while she always yearned to love Jesus, she couldn’t do it through her own strength alone. Reintroducing herself to the world as a “living testimony of mercy,” she expressed profound gratitude to God for looking at her past mistakes and speaking a new destiny into her life.

Since celebrating her 40th birthday in June, Tonto Dikeh appears to have entered a much more peaceful and grounded stage of her life. The former wife of Olakunle Churchill stated that she is now at a point where the opinions or actions of others can no longer shake her character. She described herself as being “unapologetically radical for Jesus,” making it clear that she is firmly committed to her spiritual path and will not be swayed by public perception or past narratives.
