Abraka Shooting: Gov Oborevwori Vows Justice Will Be Served

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has promised that justice will be done over the killing of a woman in Abraka, assuring residents that the state government will pursue a thorough investigation into the incident.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the tragedy as deeply unfortunate and preventable. According to reports, the woman was hit by a stray bullet after security operatives allegedly opened fire while chasing suspected criminals.

Oborevwori expressed sadness over the death, noting that the incident could have been avoided if security officers had adhered strictly to operational guidelines. He cautioned security agencies to exercise greater restraint and professionalism in their operations, stressing that the safety of innocent citizens must never be compromised.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all Deltans. He appealed to residents of Abraka to remain calm and patient as investigations continue, assuring them that the matter will not be swept under the carpet.
