Members of the Accord Party in Kaduna State have thrown their weight behind the party’s presidential candidate, Gbenga Olawepo Hashim, expressing strong confidence in his leadership capacity ahead of the 2027 general election.
The show of support came during a political rally held on Tuesday in Kaduna, where party faithful, youth groups, women associations and community leaders gathered to openly declare their backing for his presidential ambition.
Speaking at the event, party leader Sabo Jimeta praised Olawepo Hashim’s long record of involvement in national politics, his commitment to democratic ideals, and his consistent advocacy for economic reform and national unity. He described him as a candidate with the experience and vision needed to steer the country in a better direction.
The rally recorded a large turnout, with supporters filling the venue and expressing optimism about the Accord Party’s chances in the upcoming election. Many participants carried banners and placards with messages of support, while chants and songs created an energetic atmosphere throughout the gathering.
One of the popular messages displayed in Hausa described Gbenga Hashim as the saviour of Nigeria, reflecting the strong confidence some supporters have in his candidacy and political direction.
Party officials also noted that the Accord Party recently concluded its affirmation exercises across several states, where Olawepo Hashim reportedly enjoyed wide acceptance among delegates and members. They said the process reflected growing confidence in his leadership qualities and his vision for a more united and stable country.
Supporters at the rally argued that his candidacy presents Nigerians with an alternative platform focused on economic recovery, industrial growth, national cohesion and more inclusive governance.
They further encouraged voters to support leaders who demonstrate the experience and ideas required to address the country’s ongoing challenges.
The Kaduna gathering is expected to be part of a wider mobilisation drive, as the Accord Party continues to build momentum across different regions in preparation for the 2027 general election.
