Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has reached a new international peak after her breakout track Bloody Samaritan earned a silver certification in the United Kingdom, marking another strong moment in her global rise.
The certification was issued by the British Phonographic Industry in recognition of the song’s steady commercial performance and long lasting popularity since its release in 2021. The track featured on her debut project 19 and Dangerous under Mavin Records, a body of work that introduced her to a worldwide audience.
This latest achievement adds to her growing reputation as one of the Nigerian voices shaping the global sound of Afrobeats. It also reflects how far the genre has traveled, gaining stronger acceptance and streaming success across major international markets.
With this recognition, Ayra Starr now stands among a select group of Nigerian artists whose projects have earned similar UK silver status. This group includes Burna Boy with African Giant, Twice As Tall and Love Damini, Asake with Work of Art and Lonely At The Top, Wizkid with Made in Lagos, Davido with Timeless, Tems with Born in the Wild, Omah Lay with Boy Alone, Rema with Rave and Roses, and CKay whose Love Nwantiti became a worldwide hit.
The milestone adds another important chapter to Ayra Starr’s career, strengthening her place among the new generation of artists pushing Afrobeats further onto the global stage and expanding its reach to wider audiences around the world.
