Burna Boy Becomes First African Artist to Earn $1M in Oceania

Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has made history in Sydney, Australia, becoming the first African musician to earn over $1 million from a single concert in Oceania. The landmark performance took place at Qudos Bank Arena on October 18, 2025, as part of his No Sign Of Weakness tour, generating $1.117 million in ticket sales alone.

The achievement marks a significant milestone for African music on the global stage. According to Touring Data, a platform tracking live performances and revenue worldwide, Burna Boy’s Oceania tour now holds the record as the highest-grossing tour by an African artist in the region. Across four concerts, the tour sold 31,000 tickets and brought in a total of $3.1 million.

Fans on social media celebrated the news, noting that Burna Boy has now grossed over $1 million from a single show on three continents—North America, Europe, and Oceania—cementing his position as a global music icon.

The Australian leg alone drew nearly 31,000 fans over four shows, with an average ticket price of $100.94, generating roughly $772,791 per performance.
