Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has presented a detailed 19-point proposal to the Nigeria Football Federation, outlining his vision for the team and requesting enhanced terms following Nigeria’s impressive third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Chelle, who joined the Super Eagles in January 2025 on a two-year deal, currently earns $50,000 monthly—a sum that also covers his assistants. The Malian tactician is now seeking an upgraded arrangement that reflects his leadership and the team’s performance under his guidance.
According to journalist Shina Oludare, the proposal was submitted on January 22, 2026, and shared on social media. It includes a mix of professional and logistical requests designed to support both performance and comfort. Among the first ten points are provision of a private SUV with chauffeur and security, a home in a secure area with 24-hour electricity, a furnished office equipped with a projector and reliable internet, flight arrangements for his wife and two children, and provision of equipment tailored to match demands and opponent analysis. Chelle also emphasizes the right to determine international friendly matches, lead youth development initiatives, and oversee camping programs.
The proposal further seeks no interference in team selection and player call-ups, formal contracts and timely salaries for his technical staff, and a significant salary adjustment to $130,000 per month to cover himself, his team, and his personal assistant.
With this ambitious package, Chelle is signaling his commitment to elevating the Super Eagles while establishing conditions that allow him and his staff to operate at peak efficiency. The proposal represents a bold move to align the federation’s support with the team’s growing continental ambitions.
