Nollywood actress and singer, Dayo Amusa, is marking a momentous occasion the first birthday of her son with the release of a heartfelt new song dedicated entirely to him.

Earlier today, the actress had already shared stunning, dapper photographs of her son, offering public gratitude for the profound opportunity to experience motherhood. She has now taken to her Instagram page to formally announce the debut of her track, “Firewamiri.”

“As we celebrate your first birthday today, OLUWAFIREWAMIRI @babyolufire, I pen down this note 🎵 of words to you,” the movie star wrote alongside the announcement of the song.

While counting down to the special day, Dayo had previously shared adorable photos of her son dressed in traditional Igbo attire, affectionately hailing him as “Mazi Odogwu Fire.”

The arrival of her son, Oluwafirewamiri, in November last year, was described by the actress as the arrival of her greatest treasure. At the time, Dayo expressed immense gratitude to her Maker and her overwhelming excitement to finally become a mother.

Throughout the year, Dayo has candidly shared updates on her son’s milestones. When celebrating his seventh month, she described him as a “rainbow after the storm,” revealing his first words and emerging skills. Similarly, at his six month mark, she shared photos while noting that “time was an absolute thief,” expressing how proud she and his father are to be his parents.

A Difficult Journey to Motherhood

Dayo Amusa has been remarkably open about the emotional and medical hurdles she overcame to welcome her son. In the days leading up to Christmas last December, the actress shared a powerful testimony detailing her ordeals. She revealed that she had suffered three previous miscarriages and spoke of the heartbreak of being abandoned by her ex-husband due to her struggles with infertility, only for him to get someone else pregnant.

Earlier in February, Amusa recounted her journey to motherhood in even greater detail. She recalled a moment of immense vulnerability where she broke down in tears in front of her domestic workers, crying out to God and giving Him an “ultimatum,” after having undergone countless medical checkups and surgeries in her battle to conceive.

During the infant’s naming ceremony, the notable absence of the baby’s father, coupled with the presence of her colleague, Damola Olatunji, who stood in for him, sparked significant online chatter. Addressing the speculation, the actress fiercely questioned those talking, asking if their own husbands were missing a clear defense of her choices and privacy.
