The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has officially inaugurated its new executive committee, with Hamza Madagali taking over as the party’s state chairman. The swearing-in ceremony, held in Yola, marked the beginning of a fresh phase for the PDP in the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who was represented by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, attended the event and reaffirmed the administration’s close ties with the party. She expressed confidence that Madagali’s leadership would inject renewed energy and direction into the PDP’s activities across Adamawa.
Other members of the new executive include Saleh Mohammed Musa Shelleng as State Secretary, Barrister Ishaku Y. Daniel as Legal Adviser, Bature Moses as Auditor, Titus Samaila as Organising Secretary, and Victor Dogo as Publicity Secretary, among others.
Speaking at the event, Professor Farauta urged the new chairman to work closely with party stakeholders to promote peace, unity, and inclusiveness within the PDP. She called on him to reach out to aggrieved members and reconcile internal differences to strengthen the party’s base.
She also commended the outgoing chairman, Barrister A.T. Shehu, for his contributions to the party’s growth, describing the leadership transition as smooth and commendable.
In his address, Hamza Madagali thanked God, Governor Fintiri, and the PDP leadership for the confidence reposed in him. He promised to lead with integrity and commitment, pledging to build on the achievements of his predecessor.
Madagali’s emergence is seen as a unifying step for the PDP in Adamawa, as the party looks to consolidate its influence and maintain its stronghold under Governor Fintiri’s leadership.
