“I Am No Politician” — Pope Leo XIV Declines Debate With Trump

Zoyols News

Pope Leo XIV has made it clear that he will not be drawn into a public war of words with Donald Trump. Speaking to reporters on Monday, the pontiff addressed recent criticisms leveled against him by the U.S. President following his remarks on the conflict between the United States and Iran.

The conversation took place aboard the papal plane as the Pope traveled to Algeria, marking a significant first visit to the African continent. When asked about the tension, he maintained a calm and firm stance, distancing himself from the political arena. According to updates monitored by Reports, the Pope emphasized that his role is spiritual rather than partisan, stating simply that he is not a politician.

Rather than engaging in a debate, the pontiff reiterated that his primary focus remains on a global call for stability. He noted that his intentions are consistent and centered on a single objective: the promotion of peace. By refusing to engage in a back-and-forth with the American leader, Pope Leo XIV signaled that his message regarding international conflicts transcends political disagreements.
