Iyabo Ojo fires back at Baba Ijesha over her children

zoyolsnews

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has hit back at Baba Ijesha after his recent interview, making it clear that her children are off-limits in his public statements.

During an interview with Biola Bayo, Ijesha spoke about the sexual assault allegations brought against him by comedienne Princess, claiming he was hurt by Iyabo Ojo’s stance and insisting he had looked after her kids in the past.

Responding on her Instagram story, Iyabo made it clear that her children should never be used as leverage. She emphasized that her kids were always cared for by nannies and her late mother, and she warned Ijesha against misleading the public.

“I have no problem with you telling your side of the story,” Iyabo wrote. “But take this as a CEASE AND DESIST notice: stop using my children as cheap bait. My kids have never been left alone—they were always under the care of nannies or my late mum. At my former Ilupeju business, I had multiple staff including stylists, sales reps, and apprentices. You were a senior colleague, yes, but that 14-year-old girl was a minor. Sexual assault is a crime, and the court found you guilty based on evidence. Don’t drag my children into this, or I will have my legal team serve you appropriate papers.”

Baba Ijesha was released from prison on November 15th after serving over three years for the sexual assault of Princess’s 14-year-old ward. Actor Yomi Fabiyi shared the news of his release on Instagram, praising Ijesha’s appeal court victory and expressing relief that he had been cleared. In his first public post after release, Ijesha thanked an unnamed supporter, believed to be Fabiyi, and noted he was seeking a place to relax while assuring that he would not be disgraced.

The allegations date back to 2021, when Princess accused Baba Ijesha of molesting her minor ward, sparking a heated debate in Nollywood. Iyabo Ojo publicly supported Princess, while Yomi Fabiyi defended Ijesha. In 2022, Ijesha was sentenced to five years in prison for the sexual assault.

Iyabo Ojo’s latest statement reinforces her position that while Ijesha may share his narrative, her children are not part of the story and will not be used as a public pawn.
