American rapper Nicki Minaj has drawn attention to the rising attacks on Christians in Nigeria, calling for urgent international intervention. She spoke on Tuesday at a United Nations event hosted by U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz, highlighting the need to protect religious freedom and human rights.
Minaj began by acknowledging former U.S. President Donald Trump for his leadership in prioritizing the protection of Christians worldwide. She emphasized the unifying power of music across cultures and beliefs, stressing that faith should allow everyone to freely express their devotion.
“Faith is under attack in far too many places,” Minaj said. “In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed. Churches are being burned, families torn apart, and entire communities live in constant fear simply because of how they pray.” She called on the international community to take immediate action to stop the violence and combat extremism.
Minaj was careful to frame her remarks as humanitarian rather than political. “Protecting Christians in Nigeria is not about taking sides or creating division. It is about standing for unity and the basic right of every human to practice their faith freely,” she said.
Her statements underscore the urgency of addressing religious persecution in Nigeria and rallying global attention to the plight of affected communities,
