Delta State Governor and President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Chief Ifeanyi Okowa, has extended his warm congratulations to hurdles star Oluwatobi Amusan on her impressive silver medal win at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan. Amusan clocked 12.29 seconds in the women’s 100m hurdles final, narrowly missing the gold medal which was claimed by Ditaji Kambundji of Switzerland with a time of 12.24 seconds.
Okowa praised Amusan as a national pride, highlighting her discipline and exceptional performance on the track. As the current world record holder in the 100mH with a time of 12.12 seconds set in Oregon in 2022, Amusan has once again proven her status as a world-class athlete. The AFN President expressed his delight in Amusan’s achievement, noting that it showcases the immense talent available in Nigeria.
