Former Nigerian captain and coach Sunday Oliseh has expressed strong confidence in the Super Eagles’ prospects at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Speaking on the Oliseh Insight Podcast, he said the team, under coach Eric Chelle, has the talent and spirit to make the nation proud.
Nigeria has been drawn into Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda. The Eagles will kick off their campaign against Tanzania on December 23, before facing Uganda in their final group-stage match.
Oliseh advised Chelle to remain firm in his decisions, warning that external pressures could influence team selection. “I am very optimistic that the Super Eagles can do well at this tournament,” he said. “The manager has to grow a little stubborn. People from outside will try to influence who plays and who doesn’t. He must stand his ground and show that he is the one responsible for the team.”
With a mix of discipline, focus, and talent, Oliseh believes the Eagles are well-positioned to shine and make an impact in Morocco.
