Opeyemi Aiyeola Sets the Record Straight on Chatta’s Bereavement

Nollywood star Opeyemi Aiyeola has cleared the air on reports surrounding the recent loss suffered by her colleague, Ibrahim Chatta.

The confusion began after Chatta posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram over the weekend, writing: “Inna liLlahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on Dear Son. Champ.” His emotional words quickly sparked speculation, with many media outlets suggesting the actor had lost his biological child.

Reacting on Sunday through her verified Instagram page, Aiyeola explained that the deceased was not Chatta’s biological son but his godson, with whom he shared a deep fatherly bond.

“Ibrahim Chatta didn’t lose his biological son but a godson who was just like a son to him. May his pure soul continue to rest peacefully. It has been such an emotional journey so far. God have mercy,” she wrote.

The actress also offered prayers for the grieving family, calling for empathy and compassion as they navigate this painful moment.
