Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, made her return to the Senate chamber on Tuesday after serving a six-month suspension. Her presence marked a notable moment in the day’s plenary session as she resumed legislative duties alongside her colleagues.
She arrived during the address of welcome by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, drawing attention from fellow lawmakers who warmly acknowledged her return. Senators Abdul Ningi of Bauchi, Ali Ndume of Borno, and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto were among those who exchanged pleasantries with her on the floor.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had been suspended in March following allegations of misconduct linked to her protest over the reassignment of her Senate seat. At the time, the decision stirred mixed reactions within political circles and among her supporters.
Speaking previously with reporters, the senator had stood her ground, insisting she had no reason to apologise to the Senate leadership for her actions. Her return to plenary now signals a fresh chapter in her legislative journey and reaffirms her determination to continue representing the people of Kogi Central with resilience and conviction.
