Reports claiming that Simi and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are heading for divorce have been dismissed as false by the singer’s management team. The rumours began circulating widely on social media after a supposed legal document claiming to be a divorce petition went viral. Simi’s manager, Vincent, clarified that the claims were completely fabricated and should not be taken seriously.
According to him, the document being shared online was created to mislead the public. He explained that it was presented as a divorce filing allegedly submitted by Adekunle Gold, claiming that the marriage had broken down due to emotional, financial, and professional disagreements. The document also mentioned requests for dissolution of the marriage and joint custody of their child, while some online platforms claimed it had been filed at the High Court of Lagos State. However, Vincent stated that a closer look at the document showed obvious signs of forgery, as shared by Zoyols.
He pointed out several inconsistencies that made the document unreliable. One major issue, he said, was that the document used stage names, which are not legally recognized in court documents anywhere. He also noted that the case number printed on the document appeared to be backdated, listing 2024 as part of the reference details despite being linked to a 2026 claim. These technical errors, he said, clearly showed the document was not authentic.
The rumours gained more attention when old social media posts attributed to Simi resurfaced online. Some users began speculating that her previous posts might be signs of tension in her marriage. Around the same time, Adekunle Gold’s brief break from social media also fueled online conversations, with fans trying to interpret his return posts as possible hints about personal issues.
Simi and Adekunle Gold have been together for several years before eventually getting married in January 2019. The two first met as friends and collaborators in the music industry before their relationship later turned romantic. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Adejare, also known as Deja, in 2020. Earlier in 2026, reports emerged that the couple welcomed twins, a development that was widely celebrated by fans and followers online.
The pair recently marked their seventh wedding anniversary, sharing heartfelt messages and tributes to each other on social media. Supporters continue to celebrate their relationship while dismissing the divorce rumours as unfounded speculation spreading online.
