A shocking case of betrayal has emerged from Adamawa State, where the local police command has apprehended three individuals for their alleged involvement in a high-profile kidnapping. Among those taken into custody is the biological son of the victim, who is accused of working with a gang of hoodlums to orchestrate the abduction of his own father.
The incident first came to light after reports reached the authorities concerning the disappearance of Alhaji Ahmadu, who was snatched from Malabu town on January 30, 2026. Following a series of intelligence-led operations conducted alongside local security groups, the police were able to track down the suspects in Jera village, located within the Fufore Local Government Area.
The suspects have been identified as 45-year-old Lawali Haruna, 25-year-old Yahaya Ibrahim, and the victim’s son, 28-year-old Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu. While the arrest of any kidnapping syndicate is a significant win for local security, the involvement of the victim’s son has left the community in deep shock.
During the initial phase of the investigation, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that all three men have confessed to their roles in the crime. The motive behind the son’s decision to turn against his father remains a central part of the ongoing inquiry, as detectives work to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.
Despite the arrests, the mission is far from over. Law enforcement agencies are currently prioritizing the safe rescue of Alhaji Ahmadu, who remains in captivity. Simultaneously, a manhunt has been launched to track down other fleeing members of the syndicate to ensure the entire network is dismantled
