Popular Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James has opened up about her emotional journey through childbirth, sharing touching moments from her labour and delivery experience with fans online.
Earlier this month, Zoyols News reported that Veekee and her husband welcomed their first child together. The couple announced the arrival of their baby with a heartwarming video, revealing that their daughter, Eliana Adeife Atere, was born on May 2.
Taking to her Instagram and YouTube pages, the celebrity designer shared a detailed video capturing the emotional moments leading to the birth of their daughter. According to her, the experience lasted over 48 hours and tested her faith, patience and strength.
In her message accompanying the video, Veekee expressed gratitude to God for helping her overcome fear during the process and safely blessing them with their baby girl. She described the waiting period as a journey filled with trust in God and appreciation for everyone who supported her through it.
She also appreciated her doula for standing by her throughout the labour and delivery process, describing the support as invaluable.
Following the birth announcement, one of her followers advised her to take some time off and rest. Responding playfully, Veekee questioned if she had complained about being stressed and jokingly told fans to prepare to keep seeing more of her because she had rested enough already.
Veekee James got married to Femi Atere on February 10, 2024, in a star studded ceremony that drew the attention of celebrities and fans across the country. The wedding featured notable personalities including Juliana Olayode, Eniola Ajao, Osas Ighodaro, Toke Makinwa, Priscilla Ojo and Pretty Mike among others.
Their wedding ceremony became one of the most talked about celebrity events at the time, especially after Veekee introduced a choir of about 200 members during the celebration. While many admired the grandeur of the occasion, some critics argued that the designer went overboard with the display. Media personality Daddy Freeze also reacted at the time, urging Nigerians to allow the newly married couple enjoy their moment peacefully.
Months after their wedding, Veekee publicly praised her husband during a church thanksgiving service, describing him as one of the greatest blessings God had given her. She spoke warmly about the peace he brings into her life and his humility, adding that marrying him remains one of the best decisions she has made.
