Nigerian singer Asake continues to make waves on the international music scene, breaking his own record as the artist with the highest number of entries in the history of the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
This week, the “Mr Money” crooner hit a remarkable milestone, reaching 60 chart entries as his collaborative track with Wizkid, Jogodo, climbed to number four. The song’s success further cements Asake’s dominance in Afrobeats and highlights his growing influence beyond Nigeria.
Meanwhile, South African sensation Tyla remains a force to be reckoned with on the chart. Her hit Channel continues to hold the number-one spot, adding to her accolades as the top Afrobeats artist for 2025. Tyla’s earlier release, Water, previously set the record for the longest-running number-one track, spending 55 weeks at the top.
In related news, Nigerian superstar Burna Boy achieved a new milestone on the Billboard Hot 100. His feature on Gunna’s track WGFT reached a career-high position of number 16 following a remix with Chris Brown. This marks Burna Boy as the first African artist to debut a song on the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive years, from 2021 to 2025, reinforcing his status as a global Afrobeats ambassador.
Asake’s record-breaking run, alongside Tyla and Burna Boy’s continued achievements, underscores the unstoppable rise of African music on the global stage.
