BBNaija’s Sultana Meets Gov Otu, Backs Cross River Tourism

BBNaija star Sultana has paid a visit to Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, where she expressed her willingness to support and promote the state’s tourism sector as an ambassador.

Details of the meeting were shared after her courtesy visit to the governor at his country home in Adiabo, located in Odukpani Local Government Area. The meeting came at a fitting time, as the state gears up for the Easter season, a period known for increased cultural and tourism activities.

Governor Otu welcomed her warmly and noted that her visit meant a lot, especially during such a significant period. He spoke proudly of her connection to Cross River, emphasizing that the state always celebrates its own. He also shared his belief that her journey is just getting started, expressing confidence in her ability to reach even greater heights.

Reflecting on her time in the Big Brother Naija house, the governor described her performance as inspiring, pointing out the strength and determination she showed while competing on such a demanding platform.

The conversation also touched on the growing influence of the creative industry. Governor Otu highlighted how important the sector has become and explained that her interest in promoting tourism aligns well with the state’s direction. He made it clear that the government is open to working closely with her to boost Cross River’s presence in culture, entertainment, and tourism.

He further revealed that the state is making deliberate moves to position itself as a top destination in Nigeria, with continued focus on infrastructure and cultural development. He assured her of full support, both in helping her grow and in expanding her reach as part of the larger vision.

According to him, more discussions will follow to properly define how the collaboration will work, with key stakeholders expected to be involved in moving the plan forward.

Sultana, on her part, commended the governor’s efforts so far, especially in improving infrastructure, promoting tourism, and reshaping the state’s image. She noted that the changes are visible and encouraging.

She also made it clear that she is ready to use her platform to spotlight Cross River, particularly through major events like Carnival Calabar. She expressed her willingness to contribute wherever needed within the creative space.

Reaffirming her ties to the state, Sultana shared her belief that with the right partnerships and continued effort, Cross River can further establish itself as a leading force in tourism and cultural excellence.
