Rapper Dremo has finally opened up about his decision to leave Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), citing management’s overwhelming focus on Davido as a major factor.
In a candid interview with Echo Room, he revealed that the label’s administration often prioritized the CEO, leaving other artists with limited opportunities. “I didn’t even collaborate with my label mate Idowest because, at the time, we were all trying to make our mark. DMW never really had a collective project or label album. The focus was solely on Davido,” he explained.
Dremo added that his expectations from the label weren’t met. “DMW didn’t provide financial support. It served more as a platform than a career boost. I didn’t get what I was hoping for,” he said.
Reflecting on his journey, Dremo shared that the experience has reinforced his choice to continue as an independent artist, pursuing his own path in the music industry.
