French authorities have barred ten British far-right activists from the country following a series of anti-migrant actions aimed at stopping people from crossing the Channel to the United Kingdom. The Interior Ministry confirmed that the individuals, all linked to the “Raise the Colours” movement, carried out activities on French soil that prompted the enforcement of territorial bans. Their identities have not been publicly disclosed.
Social media posts from “Raise the Colours Operation France” last year documented activists targeting small boats used by migrants on France’s northern coast. In one clip from November, a man, reportedly Ryan Bridge, filmed himself finding an inflatable boat buried in the sand and deliberately slashing it, declaring, “That is not going to England.” Another video showed him wading into the sea and confronting dozens of migrants boarding a dinghy, shouting, “You’re not welcome in our country.”
The actions come amid heated debates over immigration in the United Kingdom, which have fueled far-right activism and a surge in nationalist displays, including English and British flags. Anti-racism advocates say groups like “Raise the Colours” are the primary organizers behind these acts.
Channel crossings by migrants have steadily increased, with last year marking the second-highest number of undocumented arrivals on UK shores since 2018. France’s decision to ban these activists reflects its determination to prevent foreign-organized disruptions targeting vulnerable migrant populations.
