Nigeria’s Super Falcons have once again stamped their authority on African football, being named the Women’s Team of the Year at the 2025 CAF Awards in Rabat, Morocco. Their stellar performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they lifted the trophy, was pivotal in earning this prestigious recognition.

Competing against strong rivals, including Ghana’s Black Queens and Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses, the Falcons’ dominance and consistency set them apart, reaffirming their status as Africa’s most successful women’s national team. This award highlights not only their achievements on the pitch but also their influence in promoting and inspiring women’s football across the continent.

With a record 10 African championships and nine World Cup appearances, the Super Falcons continue to build a legacy of excellence, resilience, and leadership in the sport, motivating a new generation of female footballers across Africa.
